Fast Track Program

North Cypress Medical Center understands that sometimes it's not possible to get a quick appointment to see your doctor, especially at night or on the weekends. We created a Fast Track Center at our Main Campus to provide you convenient urgent care without an appointment.

Our innovative Fast Track Program is designed to provide fast, convenient care for a variety of injuries and illnesses, including:

  • Cuts, Tears, or Puncture Wounds
  • Sprains, Broken Bones or Dislocations
  • Occupational Injuries
  • Fever, Rashes, Colds/Flu
  • Minor Motor Vehicle Injuries
  • Eye Injuries
  • Minor Burns
  • Allergic Reactions, Allergies, Asthma, Sore Throat
  • Insect Bites and Stings

Located just off the main campus emergency room, the Fast Track Center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for treatment of minor illnesses and injuries. This center is designed with your convenience in mind and to reduce your waiting time. The goal is to quickly assess your urgent care needs and have you treated by a board-certified doctor within minutes of your arrival.

Our six-bed Fast Track Center includes an onsite X-ray room with access to MRI and CAT scan equipment if needed. The Fast Track Center staffs a health care provider to diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries and to promptly get patients in and out of the center. Our ER also staffs emergency room physicians to assess and manage emergency care needs, including ambulance traffic, through the North Cypress emergency room.

Heart Attack and Stroke Emergencies

At North Cypress Medical Center, quality care for the treatment of heart attack and stroke begins with patients having fast access to a fully equipped and staffed facility. Our first-rate care includes providing potential heart attack or stroke patients quick access to board-certified emergency room doctors who are trained to treat their condition.

Heart Attack

North Cypress recognizes the need for immediate care and intervention in critical situations dealing with the heart. Our accredited Chest Pain Center engaged in rigorous evaluation by The Joint Commission for its ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.

All of the Emergency Department treatment rooms are equipped with modern cardiac and invasive monitoring systems. For potential heart attack victims, the North Cypress Emergency Department is capable of receiving 12-lead EKGs from Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers while they are transporting patients to the hospital. This means our Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) and surgical teams will be alerted and on standby for your arrival.

Patients who have suffered a Heart Attack often bypass the Emergency Room and go straight to the Cath Lab, saving vital minutes. Our facility includes:

  • Digital Cath Lab
  • Comprehensive cardiology suite
  • Operating rooms for open heart and vascular surgery,
  • Surgical teams ready and available 24/7 to bypass the ER and provide critical time-saving treatment.

The state-of-the-art center also offers a modern cardiac rehabilitation program for people with heart conditions. The first phase of the program begins when a patient is in the hospital recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, or other heart-related treatment. Phase II and III of the program include an exercise plan, education, and support for lifestyle changes needed to maintain a healthy heart. All three phases of the cardiac rehabilitation program are individually designed for each patient.

Stroke Emergencies

At North Cypress we understand that when you or a loved one has suffered a stroke, there is not a moment to spare. Timely intervention at a state-of-the-art facility such as the North Cypress Stroke Center can make all the difference.

North Cypress Medical Center's Stroke Center, part of our 24-Hour Emergency Care Facility at our Main Campus location, is dedicated to treating stroke victims in the Houston area. It has been accredited by the Joint Commission, and designated a Primary Stroke Center. This means we have been recognized for excellence in treatment protocols and patient care.

At our Stroke Center, neurologists and neurosurgery specialists work with our emergency room doctors to quickly diagnose and treat patients who come in with stroke symptoms. Our specialists use the latest medical therapies including thrombolysis – clot-busting medications - to treat stroke patients. Our 20-bed fully staffed Intensive Care Unit is also trained to provide critical care following the initial treatment of life threatening illnesses such as stroke. All of these emergency stroke treatments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at our Main Campus Emergency Room.
