North Cypress Medical Center is hosting a FREE Prostate Screening on Monday, September 24, 2012 in honor of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in September. The screening will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and will include PSA testing and a physical examination.

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer found in men, aside from skin cancer, and the second leading cause of cancer death in males. This type of cancer tends to grow very slowly causing it to be difficult to detect. Symptoms are rarely visible until the cancer has well advanced; therefore, PSA testing is essential in the early detection of prostate cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends men age 40 or older to be screened for prostate cancer at least once each year.

This prostate screening is to be held at the North Cypress Cancer Center at 21216 Northwest Freeway, Suite 110. For more information or to register for the screening, please call 832.912.3734. Registration is required for the screening.
