North Cypress Medical Center September 08, 2015

North Cypress Medical Center is proud to partner with the Oncology Massage Alliance (OMA) to be the first Houston area institution to offer free hand and foot massage services to cancer patients and caregivers by trained oncology massage therapists. Studies have shown the clear benefits of oncology massage therapy and how it helps alleviate stress and pain.

Janet Kantenberger, North Cypress Cancer Liaison/Oncology Social Worker, stated, “We are proud to be offering oncology massage to our patients as part of our commitment to provide supportive services to them during their cancer treatment.  Massage helps with relaxation and stress reduction, which not only helps them feel better during treatment, but also assists in the overall healing of the patient.”  Hand and feet chair massages are offered free of charge one day a week to patients for a 20 minute session in Radiation Oncology.

The OMA is a nonprofit organization that’s mission is to help reduce stress, promote healing, and provide emotional support for oncology patients through oncology massage. The trained licensed oncology massage therapists of OMA have already provided free hand and foot massages to over 5000 patients all over Texas. North Cypress Medical Center will be the first establishment in the greater Houston Area to join with this organization..

The North Cypress Cancer Center is located in Professional Building I of the North Cypress Medical Center in Suite 110.  For more information, visit OMA’s website Oncology Massage Alliance or contact Janet Kantenberger at 832-912-3658.
