The Texas Department of State Health Services recently awarded North Cypress Medical Center with the designation of a Primary Level II Stroke Facility, recognizing the center for excellence in stroke treatment protocols and patient care.

This designation confirms that North Cypress Medical Center meets all Texas standards of care relating to stroke treatment, actively advocates for stroke system developments and works to improve the availability and quality of stroke care as an active member of Southeast Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council. North Cypress takes pride in patient care and continuously strives to improve its standards.

At the North Cypress Stroke Center, neurologists and neurosurgery specialists work with emergency room doctors to quickly diagnose and treat patients who show stroke symptoms. Specialists use the latest medical therapies including thrombolytics – clot-busting medications - to treat stroke patients. The 20-bed fully staffed Intensive Care Unit at North Cypress is also trained to provide critical care following the initial treatment of life threatening illnesses such as stroke. All of these emergency stroke treatments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at our Main Campus Emergency Room.
